In order to find space for the ^[[display of the]] valuable objects acquired during the year it became necessary to rearrange the whole of the exhibition series.  Many objects that formerly occupied a position upon the floor of the Museum have been installed upon brackets ^[[,]] attached to the walls ^[[,]] or upon the tops of cases.  Notwithstanding the fact that this alternative was resorted to ^[[,]] the floor space is overcrowded.  This condition of affairs is to be lamented since the linited space that can be assigned to this Section ^[[,]] precludes the acceptance of many objects which the owners would donate or deposit ^[[,]] provided they were immediately placed upon exhibition, but which they prefer not to place in the custody for an indefinite period.

While the other departments and sections of the Museum are also in the present crowded condition there appears to be no possibility of relief save the erection of an additional building ^[[,]] unless some
