(1) From July 1 '94 to June 30 '95 no objects of importance have been received from outside the Museum. Several pieces of apparatus used by Prof. Henry in the investigations of Electro Magnetism which led to the invention of the magnetic telegraph, which had formerly been in the custody of the Smithsonian Institution were transferred to my care and placed upon exhibition together with other pieces of Henry apparatus deposited by his daughters - a special case being devoted to perpetuating the history of the important discoveries in electricity made by the first secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.
