DWAH.

As far as I can tell, there is no definite leadership in this group. Birds just drift away eventually - possibly not all in same direction.

NOTE: This really was a very large flock. [[underlined]] By far [[/underlined]] the largest flock I have seen here (yet). [[underline]] It may be significant that it occurred just where some "upper sub tropical species" [[/underline]] (i.e. [[underline]] B. coronatus [[/underline]] and [[underline]] A. pallidinucha) ^[[palli in "pallidinucha" strike out]] appeared. [[/underline]]

Incidentally, [[underline]] these latter species are unusually high here! [[/underline]]

8:49. 8475 ft. Lee group ^[[4 check marks above]] 4 Blue & Blacks 6 - 10 ft up small trees. Noisy But apparently alone

9:32. Back up near crest of ridge. A ^[[one check mark above]] single Firebelly flies by alone.

Nothing going on up here - so I will start back down path, toward mixed flock areas.

9:58. 8490 ft. Hear more Altapetes Whistle Songs. NODWA.

^margin in pencil [[Orange bill & eye ring]] 10:20. Down where large flock seen earlier this morning. See single [[male symbol]] trogon. Red breast (with white bar). Gray wings. [[underlined]] Large [[/underlined]] white tips to tail feathers. Another subtropical species???

Flock as a whole certainly gone now. But the wren that was with flock is still here.

Starting back up path 10:30 am.

10:45 am 8550 ft. Second growth-USTF side old slide. See ^margin in red [[Cy?]] definite mixed flock. Includes ^[[one check mark above]] 1 blue bird (probably Cy), ^[[3 check marks above]] Whitestripes, ^[[1 check mark above]] 1 presumed BCBT ([[underlined]] light eye! [[/underlined]]), ^[[2 check marks above]] 2 Whitestarts. All birds quiet. Ranging 10-20 ft up. Group as a whole may be well integrated.

Reach crest of hill again 11:08 am. Now going back to hotel,
