[[circled]] 40 [[/circled]] ual species), possibly some other birds, in scrub across path. This probably is all one mixed flock. Reach crest of ridge again 8:18 am. Going back down hill 8:55. 8500 ft. See single [[underlined]] B. luteoviridis. [[/underlined]] Down hill. In bamboo. Apparently alone. I wonder why there are no GT's or Buthraupis around here?? 9:40 8400 ft. See large mixed flock Group includes 2 PL's at least, Synallaxis, 2 [[underlined]] B. luteoviridis [[/underlined]] types, at least, "BCBT", 4 or (more probably) 5 Firebellies, 2 or (more probably) 3 Cys, [[underlined]] Plieucticas [[/underlined]] (nc! -- [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] the usual, largely yellow, species -- the rarer, largely black, one) All in USTF. PL's, [[underlined]] luteoviridis [[/underlined]], and Syuallaxis stuck low in scrub. All others in scrub and trees, 6 - 20 ft up. Group as a whole fairly noisy. Obviously highly organized. Firebellies both leaders and passive unclear (when not leading) [[margin in red]] Also, 1 Blue and Black [[/margin]] [[margin in red]] Cy [[/margin]] 9:50. Turning corner of patti, come across same flock again. Still includes same birds. And now I see that it also includes 2 Mututarts, 2 Mututrepes, 1 [[underlined]] Whitebeard [[/underlined]] (definite!), 1 cotuiga CXIX, and 2 small wrens (possibly House Wrens). All these additions are in trees. Interestingly enough, there are no [[underlined]] Th. cyanocepliala! [[/underlined]] I have seen [[underlined]] cyanocepliala [[/underlined]] around here before. So the local birds of this species [[underlined]] probably are with another flock somewhere else now. [[underlined]] Flock as a whole doesn't seem to be going anywhere in particular very fast. But all birds are quite close together. Still no Sittis! [[margin in red]] Sitti [[/margin]] 10:30 Farther up path. See pair Whitestarts down hill in US
