One of the Firebellies and one of the[[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] in this flock may have been the birds that I saw together, near the Myst, yesterday morning. Probably none of the birds in this flock were included in the big mixed flock seen yesterday. In another area, probably almost 1/4 mile away.

So it seems likely I have seen at least three different mixed flocks in this region.

Probably all quite similar in basic structure.

[[underlined]] rufinuchas [[/underlined]] certainly appear to be followers. Regular attendants

Firebellies may be ambivalent. Follow and/or join as well as followed and/or joined? Occasional passive nuclear?

Basileuterus XLI may be active nuclear.

The flock seen today was unusually coherent. Birds moving together for at least 5 minutes (as long as I watched them)

It seems quite likely that some of the songs which I have heard around here and which I thought might be uttered by Bruns were actually "twitters" uttered by the local Fire-bellies.

As far as I can tell {and visibility is atrocious} the scrub around here is only a couple hundred feet below the paramó. Quite comparable to the area where there were so many Lafs near the Paramo de Guasca in the eastern Andes of Colombia. Except that there seems to be a few more medium-sized trees here. Probably wetter here.

[[margin in red]] Myst [[/margin]]
9:00am There is a brief lull in the rain. During this period I've a single ^[[1 check mark above]] Myst Probably not same individual seen yesterday. Some distance away. Feeding in tree, 10 ft up, on pink flowers. Same species as that visited by individual yesterday. Also in scrub 2 or 3 ft above ground. Possibly also visits yellow flowers in scrub
