[[circled]] 20 [[/circled]] [[circled]] 58 [[/circled]] [[margin in red]] Carbo [[/margin]] Then I see Carbo alone in Eucalypt. Twice supplants a hummingbird. (I think the big dull species - [[underlined]] Patagona grgas [[/underlined]])! Pair of Carbos hopping thru Eucalypt. About 25 ft up 8:05. [[male symbol]] following close behind [[female symbol]]. Utters "Sreeeeeeee-za-za" type calls each time he lands near her. All birds generally less active now 8:15 am. Then hear Carbo singing several song phrases from the top of a tree. Invisible. Both Carbos back, collecting [[n.m.?]] on and near the ground. At least, both are [[underlined]] pecking [[/underlined]] at [[n.m.??]] I don't know if both are picking it up. [[margin in red]] Carbo [[/margin]] One of these birds seems to have a few rufous feathers on side of head! A trace of Brun-type moustache. A flock of 4 [[underlined]] Thraupis bonariensis [[/underlined]] flies through Eucalypts. Apparently not associated with other species. I have also seen a few single birds of the same species this morning. Always alone Always apparently silent. [[margin in red]] CC [[/margin]] 8:35. A single CC appears, apparently probing for insects, in top of willow tree 35 ft from ground. Utters many song phrases at irregular intervals. First relatively slow triplet phrases: "Ta-a-zee ta-a-zee ta-a-zee-zuh" [[margin in red]] CC [[/margin]] Then slightly different triplet phrases. More or less like the ones heard earlier today. "Ta-zee ta-zee ta-zee-zruh" [[margin in red]] CC [[/margin]] Then switches to first twittering phrases, which I don't think I could distinguish from some Carbo songs. [[margin in red]] Carbo [[/margin]] This willow is certainly in the territory of the Carbo pair.
