These Basileuterus were quite noisy. Lots of rattles. And this time I got a good view of one of the birds. Definitely black crowned, XLI, (presumably [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]]).

A single ^[[1 check mark above]] Firebelly flew by Whitestart and Basileuterus when they were close together. It made no attempt to join them, and they made no attempt to follow it.

7:15 Come across pair of [[underlined]] ^[[2 check marks above]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] and pair of ^[[2 check marks above]] Whitestarts in same tree. Tall tree in midst low bamboo scrub. One Whitestart sings. The bush finches just utter "Tsit" CN's. The [[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] eventually move on, while at least 1 Whitestart remains behind.

7:40. Everything very quiet. And hot!

A single ^[[1 check mark above]] Firebelly flies by. Alone. Uttering "Seeeet"s in flight

8:00 am. Whitestarts still singing occasionally.

8:20. Come across mixed flock in high but obviously second growth scrub. Rather scattered. ^[[15 black checks above]] Flock includes lots of birds. Only identify 2 Orange-heads, 1 Firebelly, 1 Whitestart, 1 [[underlined]] Ochthocea [[/underlined]]. Flock not very noisy. Moderate number of CN's. Firebelly near lead at one time; but not actually in front. Whitestart flycatching all around outskirts of flock; definitely [[underlined]] not [[/underline]] leading. 1 Orange head j -> The other Orange head was way at the rear of the flock, the last bird in fact.

I am becoming convinced that the Orange head is almost always a follower and joiner.

Clouds starting to come up a little 8:25. But it is still hot.

[[margin in red]] Sitti [[/margin]]
8:40 am. Come across another mixed flock. In mixture of thick and light scrub. Includes ^[[10 black check marks above]] a lot of birds. Of which I identified 1 Orange head, 1 Firebelly, 1 Whitestart, 1 Sitticy, 1 [[strikeout in red]] Ferru [[/strikeout]] ^above in red [[Black check]] and 1 ^[[8 circled above]] Basileuterus (probably XLI) 1 case of Orange. head j ->
