wn appreciably.

8:25 am. See a single thrust. Looks brownish, but has a definite yellow or orange eye ring.

See a single Orange ^[[1 black check mark above]] head in low scrub in garden-like area near houses. Alone. Good heaven's. It is carrying [[?]] (long straws) in its bill.

[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]]
8:35. See what is probably another Brun ^[[1 black check mark above]]. Silent, In Eucalypt abut 35 ft above ground.

There is a single [[underlined]]rufinucha[[/underlined]]^[[1 single black check above]] in garden area. Apparently alone.

Orange head back. Apparently picking insects off leaves in scrub above edge of garden.

[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]]
Brun feeding on red flowers (same species as at 9800 ft).

I think that the Orange head tends to utter R's when landing (apparently alone-but it is not inconceivable that there is a mate around). Diglossini-like?

[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]]
Brun attacks & charges at hummingbird 8:51

There are really [[underlined]lots[[/underlined]] of ^[[3 black check marks above]] Bruns around here. All apparently single. Mates incubating? Songs still common 8:55. One bird makes a [[underlined]] song flight [[/underlined]] (This took me by surprise, but I think that the "song" was largely R.)

Orange head flies by again. Going to presumed nest-site. This Orange head's area certainly overlaps several Brun territories. This bird utters lots of "Zeet" CN's while feeding, and when flying away from the next site, but not when approaching the site.

9:05. Pair of [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]]^[[2 black check marks above]] feeding in trees near garden. Apparently alone.

[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]]
The population of Bruns here is as thick as any population of [[underlined]] carbon [[/underlined]]
