underlined]]aria [[/underlined]] I have ever seen.

See pair of [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] (probably the same pair as before) and pair of Orange ^[[2 black check marks above]] heads (not including building bird) in same tree. 9:10. I [[underlined]]think [[/underlined]] that the 2 species then went in different directions. If not, the Orange heads followed the [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]], not the reverse.

Leaving 9:25 am.

Today's results seem fairly conclusive. The birds at 9600 - 9550 ft are breeding (and so, probably, are the birds at 9800 ft). And they do not seem to show anything more in the way of mixed flocks than the birds of Quito or central and southern Peru, at the same stage of the breeding cycle.

Incidentally, the area at 9600 - 9550 ft here is right at the base of the slopes on which I have studied Mysts and other birds above Unduavi [[?]]. Intermediate parts of the slope are well covered with good forest and scrub. I.e. perfect intercommunication between the 2 area is possible.

The area at 9800 is just across the valley of a small river from the 2 areas.

Below Unduavi[[?]]

Working 9600 - 9550 area again today. Arrive 5:40 am. Heavy fog (and light drizzle). Still dark. Not much dawn song where the car is parked (slightly up the road from where the nest-building Orange-head, and most of the Bruns, are.
