Going to work along path to Cilluntincara again this morning, weather permitting. Arrive 5:48 a.m. Fog. Light rain. Still very dark.

Start up path 6:05. Fog lifts but drizzle continues for a while.

Hear first song. Firebelly, 6:25 am

7:35 am. Hear [[underlined]] B. nigrocristatus[[/underlined]]R-flourishes where flock was seen yesterday (and same rounds heard day before)

Fog coming in at same time - of course!

Then see the [[underlined]] B. nigrocristatus[[/underlined]] [[2 black check marks above]]. A pair. Moving along edge thick scrub 10 - 25 ft above ground. Apparently feeding on insects; pecking at leaves, probing into twigs, etc. Utter occasional Rattle-flourishes; but not many. Also a few-"CN's. This pair is being followed by a pair [[2 black check marks above]] of Blue and Chestnut Conebill types. Moving at same levels, feeding in exactly same way. Apparently silent. I saw these Blue & Chestnuts join and/or follow the [[underlined]]nigrocristatus[[/underlined]] at least 7 or 8 times in a couple of minutes.

These Blue & Chestnuts seem to be the [[underlined]]real[[/underlined]] conebills. [[underlined]]Definitely buffy[[/underlined]] on chin. [[underlined]]But I think that they are also the "cone bill-flycatcher"[[/underlined]] LXIX!! Same shape and size. And the blue gray on the cheeks of at least one of these individuals comes [[underlined]]so far down[[/underlined]] that the buffy of the chin is hidden unless one sees the bird from in front or from straight sideways. Also both birds seem to have very faint light [[underlined]]moustache stripes[[/underlined]] just above the lower border of the grayish cheeks.

Then I go on a little ways and find that there is a [[underlined]]group[[/underlined]] of at least 4 [[4 black check marks above]] furnariid LXX's and 1 [[1 black check mark above]] Oectheca (LXXI)[[underlined]]ahead[[/underlined]]of the warbler conebill gr
