8:40. See another mixed flock. In dense second growth scrub. Only see them when they have to fly across a small ravine. First comes a group of [[1 in circle above]] 4 [[4 check marks above]] or 5 birds, all or most of which are Orange heads. Followed by a [[2 in circle above]] single [[1 check mark above]] White crowned Furnariid. Followed by a single [[3 in circle above]] [[underlined]] A. [[1 check mark above]] rufinucha [[/underlined]]. Followed by another, unidentified, bird. All quiet. Only a few "CN"s

Whitestart still singing 8:45

Then see single Whitestart alone. Fly catching from small tree near garden. Correction: It's a pair of Whitestarts.

[[underlined]]Something[[/underlined]] around here is uttering lots of song phrases. "Tsit tsit tsawee tsawee tsawee tsawee." Quite diglossine. But presumably [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]]. Yes! See [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] [[1 check mark above]] alone, in low second growth scrub. utters one "Tsawee tsawee tsawee tsawee tsawee" phrase.

[[margin in red]] general [[/margin]]
Are [[underlined Thraupis[[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Diglossa [[/underlined]] particularly closely related to one another???? The plumage colors of primitive [[underlined]] Diglossa [[/underlined]]would support this hypothesis

9:15 See a single [[checkmark]] Orangehead in area where mixed Orangehead--BCBT flock was seen earlier this morning. Apparently alone.

Good heaven's. See another thrush alone. [[underlined]] Glossy blue-black [[/underlined]]. Orange bill and legs (Probably) orange eye ring.

See a pair [[2 checkmarks]] of Whitestarts alone. Then see single[[circled]]1 [[/circled]] [[checkmark]] Whitestart alone.

Then realize that this latter Whitestart is part of a mixed flock. In small tree in area of fairly high but then & obviously second growth scrub. A [[circled]]2 [[/circled]] [[checkmark]] [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] in same tree about 10 ft away. A group of 1 B. [[checkmark]] [[underlined]]luteoveridis[[/underlined]](quite small must be [[underlined]] Basileuterus [[/underlined]]not [[underlined]] Hemispingus)[[/underlined]]and 3 [[3 checkmarks]] [[circled]]3[[/circled]]Orange heads feeding in low shrubbery on other side of road. (The [[underlined]]luteoviridis[[/underlined]]and Orange heads appear to be about the same size -- if anything Orange Head is larger). These 4 birds fly across road to join the Whitestarts and [[underlined]]cyanocephala[[/underlined]]. [[underlined]]B. luteoviridis[[/underlined]] first
