[[margin in red]] Carbo [[/margin]]
Utters a few song phrases "Zeewa" type. Then a [[underlined]]juvenal[[/underlined]]Carbo lands in same tree about 15 ft away. Can't see head very well, but definitely has light on bill. Largely slate gray above, with definite streaking. Lighter, slightly yellowish, gray below, also streaked (not at all buffy below like young Bruns). Adult Carbo shuts up when juvenal lands. Juvenal feeds energetically. Passes quite close to adult. No obvious reaction between the 2 birds. Then the juvenal goes down to hedge to feed. Adult remains to tree and sings a few more phrases. All "Zeewa zeewa zeewa [[hand drawn squiggly line going below the line on the paper]]".

[[margin in red]] Carbo [[/margin]]
It is obvious that this young bird is still allowed to roam in territory of adult A's, altho its parents don't seem to be taking care of it anymore.

Incidentally, I am sure that the pair of Carbos seen here earlier were composed of 2 adults rather than 1 adult and 1 young

Leave 9:00 am.

Afternoon. On road between Palea and Calcoto. Stop at a place called Onejuyo. 2:27. Some rather dry looking scrub.

Lots of miscellaneous finches around. Also something uttering "Wheet-chu" "DC". Same species as in La Paz, obviously. But can't get decent view of bird uttering the sounds

Flush a pair of [[underlined]]P.gayi[[/underlined]] alone.

See a [[hand drawn male symbol]] "Red cap" alone. In low scrub

Came across red tubular flowers with holes at base of corollas

See a single Orange bill alone.

There must be [[underlined]]Diglossas[[/underlined]] here; but they are certainly keeping silent and well undercover now (Among other things there is a lot of wind this afternoon)

See a couple more Orange bills alone 3:05.
Lots of hummingbirds about
