[[Brun in red in left margin]] they leave, I see that the Brun [[1 check mark above]] was down in scrub only about 20 ft from them. It makes no effort to join or follow them.

Beginning to cloud up 8:05 am. It is also fairly cold now

At last, see a mixed flock 8:18. In very mixed scrub. Includes one pair [[2 check marks above]] of [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]], one pair [[2 check marks above]] of Whitestarts, 1 [[1 check mark above]] White-bearded Fly catcher. At first, Whitestarts definitely in lead. [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] f [[arrow pointed to the right]] Whitestart. Then Whitestart f [[arrow pointed to right]] [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]]. Both [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] and Whitestarts noisy. CN's and songs. Fly catcher silent and in rear. Whole group quite scattered. Not making rapid progress in any particular direction.

[[Brun in red in left margin]] See a single Brun [[1 check mark above]] alone. Very low second growth scrub.

8:40. See another mixed flock. Includes at least 2 [[2 check marks above]] adult Orange heads, 1 White-crowned [[1 check mark above]] Furnariid, 1 other bird [[1 check mark above]]. White crown f [[hand drawn arrow pointed right]]. This is probably part of the same flock I saw last week (the one including the family of Orange heads). Very nearly the same place. Low thick second growth. Some of the birds, probably the Orange heads, quite noisy. Lots of "Seeet" or "Zheeet" Notes.

My God! All the birds around here seem to be keeping themselves quiet and hidden most of the time today! Absolutely no trace of song for an hour or so. Is this the beginning of real winter behavior?

Speak of the devil! One Whitestart singing 9:11 am.

See a single [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] [[1 check mark above]] alone. Then a single thrush (Gray breasted?) alone. Both silent. Then see another single [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] [[1 check mark above]]apparently alone.

9:40 am. come across another mixed flock. Probably partly the same "Orange-head family" seen before. Includes at least one [[1 circled above]] pair [[2 check marks above]][[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]]; [[2 circled above]] one [[2 check marks above]] pair Whitestarts; 1 [[1 check mark above]] BCBT [[3 circled above]]; 1 [[1 check mark above]] adult Orange [[4 circled above]] head, 1 [[1 check mark above]] juvenal Orangehead. Plus one [[1 check mark above]] or two [[underlined]] Basileuterus[[/underlined]], which look quite like [[underlined]] nirgrocristatus[[/underlined]] [[5 circled above]], (definitely very striped head), altho the crown does not appear to be quite as black as extreme examples of [[underlined]]nigrocristatus[[/underlined]]. Probably the birds I numbered XLVIII before. Probably also [[checkmark]] 1
