[[double line]] BARRY and FRAN Weissler (Producers) are experienced veterans of legitimate theatre, having produced and managed over 100 productions in New York and across the United States and Canada. They were represented on Broadway this past season with two award-winning productions. Othello, with James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer, received the Tony for Best Reproduction. Mr. Plummer also won the Drama Desk Award for Best Actor. Euripides' Medea joined Dame Judith Anderson and Zoe Caldwell, whose portrayal of the title role garnered her the Tony for Best Actress. They also have served as managers and tour directors for Julie Harris in The Belle of Amherst, James Earl Jones in Paul Robeson, The Long Wharf Theatre Company's premiere tour of Private Lives and The Lion in Winter. Last season they produced a new musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol starring Richard Kiley, with book and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Michel Legrand. Prior to this Broadway production, the Weisslers produced a touring company of Your Arms Too Short to Box With God, starring Patti LaBelle that played to SRO audiences across the nation. The Weisslers are currently preparing an exciting Broadway production of the Kander-Ebb-Stein musical, Zorba, starring Anthony Quinn, who is returning to the stage after an absence of twenty years.
