28th July 1931. Gale, following wet stormy night, with rising glass & little sun till too late.

Glenariff & Parkmore Glen, Co. AN.
Almost all collected in Parkmore Glen (= the Glenariff of the tourists!) except [[underlined]] Ichneumon [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] & [[underlined]] Tenthredo [[/underlined]] "arcuatus" [[male symbol]]. which taken on hillside.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] a few [[2 virgin female symbols]] seen (the only Bumble).
[[underlined]] Andrena fucata [[/underlined]] a very worn [[female symbol]] on Angelica on hillside 
[[underlined]] Tenthredopsis [[/underlined]]  red [[female symbol]] on grass in glen.
[[underlined]] Tenthredella atra [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] in glen.
[[underlined]] Pachyprotasis rapae [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] on bramble in glen.
Red Braconid like Meteorus in spruce in glen.
[[underlined]] Cratichneumon rufifrons [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 female symbols]]. in glen!
[[underlined]] Tryphonid [[/underlined]] & several smaller spp; all in glen.

Larvae of Pteronidea ? on Hazel & [[underlined]] [[Crocsus?]] [[/underlined]] ? on Goat Willow.

Obviously very good ground if only weather good!
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female sybmols]]. [[underlined]] B. jonellus [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Vespa sylvestris [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] on [[underlined]] Scrophularia [[/underlined]].
[[underlined]] Hylaeus confusus [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] on bramble leaf.
[[underlined]] Odynerus pictus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] seen & nest of [[underlined]] white [[/underlined]] chalk on [[double underlined]] black [[/double underlined]] basaltic boulder discovered by M.D.S.
[[underlined]] Pompilus nigerrimus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] on quarry tip.
One or two [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Ichneumon [[/underlined]] spp. taken on river bank behind town; rest of ichneumonidae taken in glen before thunder came.
[[underlined]] Pimpla [[/underlined]] "flavicornis" ? [[male symbol]].
Tryphon sp. [[female symbol]] with "auricular" scrobes!

[[underlined]] Cratichneumon [[/underlined]] ? [[underlined]] annulator [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]].
Ichneumon sp. 2 [[2 male symbols]] large & I. sp. smaller [[male symbol]] (see above)

29.7.31. On return journey C. to Larne some small hymenoptera taken in car. These all labelled Carnlough also but on back of label "In motor" as well. One small Phygadeuonid like [[male symbol]] of sp. taken on N. Ball, DU, on 15-11.31. Rest are Braconids, Chalcids or Proctotrupids.

Crocsus = Think Stelfox means Crocusus.* auricular = descriptive term as in "Posterior Auricular Flap" *or, more likely, "Craesus" - a genus of sawfly. -@mnathan
