Glencree, Co. WI (from Knockree to Copse Wood.) most collected along stream at N. side of Knockree = 1., or in the Copse Wood = 2; a few at intermediate spots.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] abundant. [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[virgin female symbol]] at 1.
[[underlined]] B. muscorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] (George) at 2. [[underlined]] B. jonellus [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[male symbol]] (George) at 2.
[[underlined]] Psithyrus campestris [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], all dark form.
[[underlined]] Andrena fuscipes [[/underlined]] (or [[underlined]] Colletes succincta [[/underlined]]) 1 [[female symbol]] seen to enter burrows & many fresh burrows seen, in old river terrace below Copse Wood. =3
[[underlined]] Halictus calceatus [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] albipes [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] seen at 3.
[[underlined]] H. leucopus [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] on [[underlined]] Jasione montana [[/underlined]] at 3.
[[underlined]] Sphecodes [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] (? [[underlined]] affinis [[/underlined]] or [[underlined]] hyalinatus [[/underlined]]) seen at 3, but none at normal place above Copse Wood.

[[underlined]] Emphytus serotinus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] abundant at oaks at 1 & 2 & several intermediate places: at some trees in dozens.

[[underlined]] Pimpla instigator [[/underlined]] 2 large [[2 female symbols]] seen. & [[2 male symbols]] of var. [[underlined]] intermedia [[/underlined]].
[[underlined]] P. iv-dentata [[/underlined]] ? [[2 male symbols]] & 1 [[female symbol]]. [[underlined]] P. oculatoria [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & 1 [[female symbol]].

[[strikethrough]] 26 [[/strikethrough]] 27th Sept. 1931. The fifth dry, but sunless day in succession: very high barometer! Warm & still! Wood in tributary valley at west side of Knockree, Glencree, Co. WI. 11.0 AM till 4 PM.
Spent two hours beating in morning & two hours with net in afternoon. Beat some larvae off alder, but most escaped out of box: they included [[underlined]] Platycampus luridiventris [[/underlined]], one large [[underlined]] Craesus [[/underlined]] & several other species.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 virgin female symbols]] common. [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 male symbols]].
