Ashdown Forest (N. side of Hindleap Warren) 1 mile N. of Wych Cross, E. Sussex. = [[boxed]] EX [[/boxed]] 11.30 till 3.15!
Bored stump brought home from which 2 [[2 male symbols]] [[underlined]] Anthophora furcata [[/underlined]] appeared in July 1932 (18th & 22nd July respectively!) & a dipteran on 5.6.[[underlined]] 1933 [[/underlined]], after 2 winters.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 virgin female symbols]] common.
Halictus freygessneri 1 [[male symbol]] on Hieracium, 1 [[female symbol]] on Ulex.

Myrmica ruginodis & scabrinodis

Larvae of [[underlined]] Craesus laticeps [[/underlined]] [[insertion]] ^ [[female symbol]] Em. 16.5.32, [[male symbol]] 28.7.32, supposedly this species! and another on 5.6.[[underlined]] 1933 [[/underlined]] after 2 winters. [[/insertion]] on birch & family of [[underlined]] Pteronidea similaris [[/underlined]] nearly, full-grown, brought home (pupated about a week later!) & fed on [[underlined]] Salix [[/underlined]] from Ashdown (1), Coombe, Surrey (2) & Co. Dubline (3); from one of these branches of Salix emerged a small [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Pontania [[/underlined]] on 18.5.32. Nearly all the [[underlined]] Pteronidea [[/underlined]] were icked by [[underlined]] Mesoleius [[/underlined]], but 1 [[female symbol]] em. on 30.5.32.
