Note on No. 128!
Two days later I received a p.c. from Dr. Roman (dated Stockholm 16/11/31) in which he says re. No. 128: - "I am afraid the [[underlined]] fulvipes [[/underlined]] you sent is [[underlined]] radialis [[/underlined]] Thn., for I just observed today the 3 [[female symbol]] in our Swedish collection belong to 2 spp. & the 2 first of them are [[underlined]] radialis [[/underlined]].
Your specimen was like them, specially in the proportion of the antennae, where the basal flagellar joints are about as long as broad. Our 3rd Swedish [[female symbol]] has dark antennae with strongly transverse joints & that I suppose is the real [[underlined]] fulvipes [[/underlined]]."

NB. All my [[2 female symbols]] I had named "[[underlined]] fulvipes [[/underlined]]" have the basal flagellan joints reddish & about square, so all therefore are evidently [[underlined]] radialis [[/underlined]] & not [[underlined]] fulvipes [[/underlined]].

About a fortnight later I received another p.c. from Dr. Roman, dated 27 Nov. 1931, in which in reply to a query of mine he says that by "base of radius" Thomson always meant the part of the 1st. abscissa next [[strikethrough]] radi [[/strikethrough]] stigma. He added that in [[underlined]] Ortho. fulvipes [[/underlined]] the 1st. abse. of radius is weakly curved, the 2nd quite straight: also that such new characters were not always constant, e.g. that in [[underlined]] Crat. fabricator [[/underlined]] the apex of radius is said to be straight, while in [[underlined]] C. annulator [[/underlined]] it is said to be curved, but he finds this "rather variable". In his species [[underlined]] Hadrodactylus rectinervis [[/underlined]] on the other hand he finds the character constant.
