16th May 1932. A beautiful day, warm & almost all sunny; some showers (? thunder) over the midlands; yet very few insects met with & in some places none to speak of. Most disappointing!
Left Duncannock, WX, at 10.30 AM & drove to Dublin via New Ross, Thomastown, Leighlin Bridge & Carlow: stopped to collect (or investigate) at [[blank space]]
1. Marsh just south of Dunbrody Abbey [nothing taken! [[insertion] - ? see footnote to next page! [[/insertion]]
2. Shore of estuary (on N. side) opposite Dunbrody Abbey & along boundary of Kilmannock Ho. estate. [[side note applying to 1. & 2.]] } Co. WX
3. Glen of the Clodiagh River (S. slope of Brandon Hill), 4 miles S.E. of Inishtioge, Co. KK. Here much nice ground for later in year.
4. Sandpit in field between road & river about [[strikethrough]] 1 1/2 miles [[/strikethrough]] 1/2 mile S. of [[underlined]] Irishtioge [[/underlined]] (opp. Woodstock), Co. KK. [ nothing taken here].
[[strikethrough]] 5 [[/strikethrough]] Also many stumps seen just south of same place! 
5. Old quarry by road, near Legan, about 1 mile N. of Thomastown, Co. KK. Only species taken here was 1 [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Halictus nitidiusculus [[/underlined]] but very likely to produce more later in year.
6 Old sandpit in field, between road & railway, about 1 mile N. of Bennett's bridge, Co. KK. [[underlined]] Sphecodes [[/underlined]] (small [[female symbol]]) & small [[underlined]] Halictus [[/underlined]] seen, but nothing taken here.

7. Railway at Maddockstown, at bridge 1/4 mile S. of junction, Co. KK. near where I took [[underlined]] Andrena fulva [[/underlined]] in April 192 [[insertion]] 5 or 6. [[/insertion]] Only species seen here were [[underlined]] Andrean albicans [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & a few Bombi.
