29th May 1932. A continuously wet day in Dublin & as far inland as Trim, Co. ME.; dull, warm & fine to the west of this place, with glimpses of sun in late afternoon.  With Palmer.
Drove to Trim, ME., & collected for half an hour about the abbey at Newtown Bridge, below Trim. 
The "jam" over the coast however spread inland & heavy rain came on at 12.30 noon. After lunch drove west through Athboy & into Co. Westneath (= WH) to a derelict plantation (or garden) at Ballinlough Castle (N of lake!); then on to Delvin (& back to

Trim & Dublin); S.E. of Delvin we crossed a great bog, by an old road, between Ballyhealy Ho. on N., & Bracklyn Ho. on S.; along this road in places is much native scrub & [[underlined]] Vaccinium [[/underlined]], where former plantation have been cut down.  All taken at last place, where we spent a couple of hours, are labelled "Ballyhealy, WH".
