23rd. August 1932. A perfect day: all sunny, with cool E. breeze.
Drove up west side of Gleniff, Co. SL & ascended cliffs of Annacoona from the school. Took some icks in marsh [[insertion]] ^ at 750 ft. [[/insertion]] near school (=1); four or five on [[underlined]] Angelica at base of main cliffs (nearly 1400 ft.?) (=2).
In afternoon drove down E. side of glen & collected along stream flowing through small valley with willow scrub at about 600 ft. alt (=3).
Spent most of the day looking for plants & most of those recorded seen, but not [[underlined]] Saxifraga nivalis [[/underlined]].  Saw one fresh Peacock Butterfly at 3, the first seen this autumn.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]] only bambles seen : at 1 & 3
[[underlined]] Andrena gwynana [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] (2nd brood) on Rubus flowers at 3.
Green, velvety, sawfly larvae swept (off rushes?) on shelf above lower cliff at 1, but not kept.
[[underlined]] Zootrephus rufiventris [[/underlined]] common at 1.
Orthocentrus [[male symbol]] on [[underlined]] Angelica [[/underlined]] at 2
[[underlined]] Promethes laticarpus [[/underlined]] 1 tiny [[male sybmol]] at 1. [[underlined]] P. sulcator [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] at 1. [[underlined]] Homocidus [[/underlined]] 2 exx at 1.

[[underlined]] Pimpla inquisitor [[/underlined]] ? 1 [[female symbol]] at 3.
