THE FOLLOWING PERFORMERS HAVE JOINED THE RESIDENT COMPANY OF THE NEGRO ENSEMBLE COMPANY FOR THE SUMMER REPERTORY PRODUCTION: GRAHAM BROWN comes to the Negro Ensemble Company after three years as an original member of the Minnesota Theatre Company under the direction of Tyrone Guthrie in Minneapolis. There he played many feature roles including Horatio in "Hamlet" Shalva in "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" and Master Simon in "The Miser." He also played in "The Three Sisters," "Henry V," "Volpone," "St. Joan" and "Richard III." At the Center Stage in Baltimore, he was featured as Babu in "Benito Cereno" and in "The Bancony," "Noah," "Titus Andronicus" and "A Penny for a Song." Born in New York, Mr. Brown grew up in Harlem and is a graduate of Howard University Players. He has enacted eight off-Broadway roles including "The Blacks," "Widower's Houses," "A Land Beyond the River" and "The Emperor's Clothes." The production of Gore Vidal's "Weekend" on Broadway Cast Graham Brown as Dr. Hampton. RICHARD WARD. As a former member of the American Negro Theatre, it is particularly significant for Mr. Ward to return to another Negro repertory company. He started his show business career in vaudeville show called "The Florida Blossoms" with two of his sisters. His work in many Tarzan films included staging the African dances in addition to his acting. He has toured Europe and South America - at eighteen he was star of "South Sea Island Holiday." In later European tours he played Joe in "Anna Lucasta" with Isabel Cooley, appeared in "A Happy Journey" with Ethel Waters, "Portrait of a Madonna" with Lillian Gish; and in "Amen Corner." On Broadway he has been featured in "Jeb," "Blues for Mr. Charlie," and "St. Louis Woman." His film credits include "Black Lime Me," "Nothing, But a Man," and "Cool World," along with his television appearance on "Green Pastures." Mr. Ward is the founder of the International School of the Performing Arts where, with its own 75 seat theater, he has produced many plays including James Baldwin's "Giovanni's Room" and his own play "Penance." [[line across page]] THE FOLLOWING PERFORMERS ARE PARTICIPANTS IN THE WORKSHOP TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE NEGRO ENSEMBLE COMPANY: BUDDY BUTLER is a former drama major from Howard University. He appeared in many productions at Cleveland's Karamu House and The Cleveland Playhouse. He is one of the founders and directors of The Theatre Black which recently appeared at Fillmore East in a benefit for the Black Panthers. A charter member of the Da-Neal Dancers he came to the Negro Ensemble Company from the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. CHARLES GREEN, JR., is one of the original members of Robert Hooks' Group Theatre Workshop. He appeared in "Day of Absence" and "Happy Ending," also "Sketches of a People." His T.V. credits are "Profile on the Arts" and "Theatre in the Loft." Among his film credits are "First Act" and "Catwomen," the former a documentary by August Films. THEODORE WILSON has toured Africa and Eastern Europe in College productions of "Medea" and "Simply Heavenly." He recently completed a series of leading roles for the Loft Theatre at Adelphia University such as "The Automobile Graveyard," Jerry in "The Zoo Story," Johnny in "Hatful of Rain" and Randell in "Slow Dance on the Killing Ground." MARI TOUSSAINT is understudy for all female roles in "Song of the Lusitanian Bogey." THEODORE WILSON understudies the male roles in "Song of the Lusitanian Bogey."
