the specimens loaned to come from our collections in the Annex and this action being in accordance with the previously adopted policy of the Board. 

The Chairman likewise reported that the Museum had cooperated in connection with the drive for scrap metal by making available a large quantity of engravers' zinc, electros and other metals. This was done with the help of the Air Wardens Service, Zone C, which provided the labor to remove the metal from the wooden bases to which it was attached. The metal so made available was sold to the United American Metals Corporation for $136.55 and this sum was turned over to the Police Department for the use of Zone C, Air Wardens Service, as a contribution toward the carrying on of their affairs. The Board ratified the action of the officers in connection with the transaction. 

A meeting of the Trustees was held on February 2, 1943. At this meeting a communication from Mr. Willard V. King, dated February 1, 1943, was presented canceling any further obligation to reimburse the Museum for any loss that they might suffer in the investment in Manati Sugar Company bonds, over and above the $1,000 bond already purchased by the Museum. The Board noted the contents of the letter and again expressed thanks to Mr. King for his generosity in giving the original guarantee.
