Admittance, as always, was granted to all applicants, and the attendance during the twelve months was 371.

[[underlined]] CHANGES IN STAFF [[/underlined]]

The changes in the staff during the fiscal year are as follows: 

Charles O. Turbyfill, Jr. resigned on July 10, 1942
Peter J. McGoldrick resigned on February 13, 1943, and in the same month John W. Brierly was appointed in his position as outside day watchman. 

[[underlined]] EXPEDITIONS [[/underlined]]

Due to economic conditions, no extensive expeditions were undertaken this year. 

[[underlined]] New York [[/underlined]] Red Thunder Cloud visited the Montauks and Shinnecocks of Long Island, collecting ethnology - principally baskets - and obtaining other interesting specimens, 41 in all. 

William F. Stiles made an archaeological research in Greene County, during which he collected 59 specimens of archaeology. 

[[underlined]] COLLECTIONS PRESENTED [[/underlined]]

Mrs. Pauline Kasin - 34 pieces of Gushibo ethnology from Columbia, including a large series of arrow types. 

Mrs. Howard Quimby in memory of her husband - 8,937 pieces of New York State archaeology - principally from Westchester County.
