The Chairman then submitted the following announcement:

We, the Board of Trustees of the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, announce with deep sorrow the death of Frederic K. Seward, a Trustee and its Secretary for over 25 years. Recording our appreciation of his devoted and highly efficientservices to our institution in his high character and delightful personality as an associate and friend.

It was unanimously voted to insert this announcement in the newspapers and to send a copy of the following resolution to Mr. Seward's family.

WHEREAS the death of Frederic Kimber Seward has taken from the Board of Trustees of the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, a member who has served as its Secretary for more than a quarter century; and

WHEREAS his fellow Trustees have ever sensed and appreciated his unstinted services and constant loyalty to the Museum and its welfare; and

WHEREAS the Trustees, personally and collectively, have ever been inspired by the warmth and charm of his personality; now, there, be it

RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, at this regular meeting record with extreme sorrow the loss it, as a body, has suffered through the death of Frederic Kimber Seward; and that these expressions be ordered placed upon the Minute Book of the Board of Trustees and that a copy be sent the bereaved family of our late colleague and dear friend.
