A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on December 5, 1944. 

The Treasurer presented his report, in which the attention of the Board was directed to the present values of various investments. The Treasurer referred to the exchange of $25,000. par value Chicago and Northwestern Railroad convertible 4 3/4% 1949 bonds under the reorganization plan and the receipt in exchange therefor of 126 8/10 shares common stock of the reorganization company. On motion, duly made and seconded, the Treasurer was authorized to inventory these shares at their value on the date on which they were received and to write off the difference between such value and the cost of the bonds. 

The Chairman referred to the house posts used as outside decoration at the door of the Annex and stated that they were in bad condition and deteriorating rapidly from weather conditions. On motion, duly made and seconded, it was resolved to have them removed and placed in the Museum building. 

The Chairman invited Mr. Burnett to address the meeting and he gave an account of the activities of the Museum, the diversified inquiries, correspondence and personal conferences which he had with the public in general.
