Get there about two hours after and find the Nowikakat [[Tyore?]] there & get a few fish & some birds & he makes me a present.  Tie up his hand which was badly cut. meet some canoes from another lot of Indians who are also fishing on the road. David is with them. Ask him why he lied about the Captain on his up trip &c. He said first that he did not and second that he would not do so any more, & was sorry. Tell him that he had better not come any more, where Americans are & go on. One of them tells us a story about the Unalakleet party having taken a Kaviak Indian who had cut down a telegraph pole & hung him up to a pole & then shot him
