Voldense Piedmont Tabulvin (@AntelopeWest) According to the Bio on jstor, Edouard Rostan (1826-1895) collected only in Italy It looks like Edouard Rostan also collected in S. America (see, e.g., some of the specimens listed in the Harvard Herbarium: http://kiki.huh.harvard.edu/databases/specimen_search.php?start=1&cltr=E.+Rostan). However, the combination of the label's heading ("Herbarium pedemontanum") and the word "valdensius" (or something similar) in the locality description point to this specimen coming from the Piedmont region. ("...The Waldensian religious movement is centered on Piedmont in northern Italy" - Wikipedia.) -@mnathan @Patrick Herne: According to this biography (http://www.studivaldesi.org/dizionario/evan_det.php?evan_id=117) (in Italian), Rostan did not collect somewhere else that in his native region, in the north of Italy. However, the term "valdensium" could also refer to the Swiss canton Vaud (pagus Valdensis in Latin), which is very close to Piedmont.
