Translates as the Woods of the Grand Etang. The collector was in the Caribbean in 1899. I am guessing this is Grand Etang Forest Reserve in Grenada. As it's written in French, It seems to be in Guadeloupe. References to the "Grand ?ang" or the "bois du grand ?ang" in Guadeloupe may be easily found via google. And the P?e Duss worked and lived in Guadeloupe. Grand ?ang is also found in Guadeloupe in Geonet Names Server [nga.mil].Rosanne Johnson
