Still Raining very hard. & no passable appearances for stopping soon. an Early Breakfast. continued to Rain all day long 
A Boat-load of colored men & women came in on the afternoon from Charleston The 55th Regt reported at or near the City of Charleston some of the companies doing garrison Duty in the [[Forts?]] around the City. The Doctor busy collecting a Detail for the Regiments No news from the front all quiet around the Hospital

The morning Cloudy & Chilly. a mail came in but no Letter for J.S. continued Cloudy the Day throughout though no Rain fell No News from the front all Quiet around the Tents my Health good & wounds apparently at a stand still not improving very much. Spent the greater part of the Afternoon in Reviewing the 1st & 2nd Volumes Casys Tactics after which written a Letter to [[Geo?]] B Lewis
