the morning fair & Cool, the Day Changeable. Health good a report in circulation that Sherman had a Fight near Goldsboro N. C. & the first Day his army was defeated with a loss of 13000 killed wounded & missing but the second Day's fight he whipped the Rebs with a heavier loss to them & captured the place

Raining hard, all the morning & bid fair to continue throughout the entire Day. No News from the front all Quiet around the Hospital Health good. received a Letter from Home friends & relatives all well. cleared up in the afternoon. a fire in the Night in the town in a building occupied as a Tailor Shop
