Morning fair & pleasant Dr. Busy making detail to go to Northern Hospital all Quiet around the Hospital nothing of importance transpiring worth speaking of 
Several new recruits for the 26th U.S.C.T. came to the Hospital with frozen feet. Lieut. Bean of Co D 55 Mass Vols in town
the Regt in Camp near Charleston Boys all well. Letter from Sergt Jones & Shorter

Morning Cloudy though very pleasant. Rained about 9 o clock A.M. & again at 12 M. when it cleared up. Taken a walk to town met with a young man belonging to the 20th Ohio & had a long talk with him of Home & persons then went to the Post-office & received two Letters from the Regt one from [[G. B. Le?]] one from Sergt Shorter. Boys all well as usual
