the morning clear & pleasant. Inspection of Quarters by the Asst. Surg in charge at 10 A.M. after which I went to the Methodist Church it being so crowded did not stay to preaching, after Dinner & during the greater part of the afternoon spent the time in conversation with old friends in the evening went to church & listened to a fine sermon delivered by Elisha Weaver Editor [[strikethrough]] [[Angl & Afric?]] [[/strikethrough]] Christian Recorder.

the morning cloudy though the weather pleasant appearances for rain favorable though the sun came out & it was fair all Day. After Breakfast & Roll call I attended Guard mounting, met with Brother Weaver & went down town where we met Brother Lynch & had a long talk of Home & other things. in the Evening went to the School House at Ward D with the expectation of hearing an address from the Rev Weaver but for some unknown reason he did not make his appearance
