The morning fair a detail left the Hospital for the different Regiments, a Letter from Sergt Shorter the Boys all well & getting along finely written a Letter to Sergt [[Fountain?]] Shorter. Steward Crawford and Miss S.E.A the Day throughout fine and nothing transpired worthy of notice no news from the front.

A fine morning & appearances bid fair for it to be a warm day though after Dinner it turned out quite cool & was quite unpleasant for the remainder of the Day. in the evening I [[strikethrough]] met [[/strikethrough]] went to the Methodist church & listened to a fine speech delivered by Major Delany the House was crowded to overflowing. The speech was elaborate & interesting throughout & the speaker showed himself to have a thorough knowledge of his subject. he is attached to the staff of Maj. Genl Saxton
