the morning Pleasant though somewhat cool two Boat loads of excursionists left Beaufort for Charleston to be Present at the raising of the flag over Sumpter on the 16th Inst by Genl Anderson. Inspection at 9½ oclock. the line formed on front of ward A. & the ^[[men]] Inspected by the asst. Surg in charge. Inspection of Quarters at 10 AM By the asst surg in charge accompanied by the Steward everything in capital order. a salute fired at the Head at 
12 M & Reported to be in honor of the capture of Richmond with 12000 Prisoners & 5000 Guns. rained hard in the afternoon
