The morning fair & the Day unusually fine, taken a short walk, rather lonesome in camp. during the entire Day & especially during the afternoon no ladies came from the City to spend the Day as usual.

[[preprinted]] MONDAY, MAY 15, 1865. [[/preprinted]]

The morning pleasant & the Day fine a small mail came in. Received  one Letter from my Brother & from Corprl Brown & G.M Lewis, D. C. A. & G. [[Cos?]] at & near Ridgeville on the 11th Inst the day the letter was written, the men tolerable well & hearty. the remainder of the Regiment at Summerville no news of importance all Quiet around Camp. Captain Goodwin in Camp & inspected the 54th Mass Regt. in the morning.
