advantage has been taken of the opportunity afforded in making this collection, to rearrange the specimens on the Balcony, to poison such as needed it, and to give personal attention to every specimen. In this work all of the force has been engaged. During the month of August only Mr. Clayton has been steadily at work during the whole time, the others being on leave of absence, as shown by the files in your office. -- All of the material sent to New Orleans, together with that obtained by my visit, is now safely housed in the Museum, and we shall commence September first, to install and enter, such as may be ready. 

Two Bamboo Fans, and an Aleutian Wallet, is all the accessions during the two months.
