Sir:
  The Report for the Department of Ethnology for the month of September is as follows. Mr. Clayton was absent three weeks, Miss Latham four weeks, Dr. Singleton one weeks, and Mr Sweeny two weeks, on leaves of absence.
During the time when they were not absent the force was employed as follows.
Dr. Singleton entered the accessions in the Journal and preparing labels for Dr. Samson's Collection.  Mr. Sweeny, Mr. Clayton, and I spent the entire time when not occupied
