To:
Prof. S. F. Baird.
Director Smithsonian Institution.

Dear Sir:
I have the honor to submit the following report for the Department of Ethnology for the month of June, 1886.

During the month of June, Mr. Hough was engaged in minutely studying the Corean collection and was assisted very much by Dr. D. B. McCartee, who acted as interpreter for Mr Pin, a Corean gentleman residing in Washington for a time.

Mr. Sweeney was engaged in installing weapons in West hall and experiments were made with reference to the proper color to be used as a background in the installment of promiscuous material.

Miss Latham was preparing material for new labels for specimens.
