Plate 3982 shows new bright band slightly fainter than I. 6369 shows strong contrast -, a marked diminution in light at 4317. 4227.0 is very strong. As wide if not a little wider than in beta Grucis. The absorption ^[[edges]] at 4762 & 4954 are seen, but the spectrum ends almost abruptly at 4954. It is seen very faintly a little beyond towards the red. This plate is probably underexposed giving the strong contrast and faint bands. 3989 shows less contrast and gives the typical points. It looks very much like alpha Orionis, except that the H lines are weaker and 4227.0 stronger.
