He has not only subjected the specimens to the ordinary solutions of arsenic and corrosive sublimate but he has carefully studied the application of poison to material so as not to injure the texture and material.

Mr. E. B. Webster, Assistant Paymaster, U. S. Navy has joined the force and Mr. Chandlee has been engaged in illustrating a fine collection made by Lt. P. H. Ray, U. S. Army, in northern Calafornia.
