The following is a report from the records of the Department of Ethnology for September 1891.

Catalogue numbers 152801 to 153014 = 213 entries of 375 specimens.

The collection of James Mooney from the Kiowas, Cheyennes and Arapahos of Oklahoma is the most important accession of the month. It comprises about 370 pieces illustrating the habitations, costumes, arts and manufactures of the Kiowas rather completely while there are a few objects from the other tribes mentioned. The collection is judiciously selected and with the aid of the numerous photographs taken by Mr. Mooney it will be easy to prepare several at -
