place Mr. Cox has kindly allowed Mr Turnbull to work a portion of his time. Mr. Soh, who worked chiefly on the Oriental Collections could not be set at my routine. Mr Hawley's service was quite perfunctory, his heart being on his music. The Curator's time is wholly taken up with the drudgery of his office and he has not one moment for keeping up with the literature or writing up the collections.
