books, the whole work of preparation for the World's Fair has been very much put back. I should be very glad if I could have someone to take Col. Turnbull's place, if only temporarily.

The Curator has entered a number of these specimens, but the demands on his time are so varied, and there are so many interruptions, that this is very impracticable.

During the month the following entries have been made: from 166,472 to 166,660, 188 entries, covering 293 specimens.
