Mr. A. Chatain
Chicago -2- Mar.4.22

On the right, large trees stre^[[t]]ching towards the left. Under them, a fountain of masonry around which are dancing three nymphs. In the rear, a lake or a river. On the left half of the picture are some straight thin trees; at the foot of them, another nymph running ^[[,]] with left arm stretched towards the fount^[[a]]in.
As you will see from the above, there exists an eau-forte of this picture, which is probably the one which had been given to Mr. Stout. Coupil have no house in New York any more, nor do they seem to have the one in Paris, at least not under the same name.
I would suggest that you^[[,]] or I^[[,]] write to our friend Levasseur, who is with Mr. J. Allard, 20 rue des Capucines, Paris. As he was formerly with Goupil & Co., he may most likely be able to tell us where we could find this engraving. At the same time, he might be able to tell us if and for how much the book of the Cent Chefs-d"Oeuvre par Roger Miles could be obtained, and further, he could tell us if there are other editions of the Cent Chefs-d'Oevre than the two above mentioned.
Hoping that you are well, I am,
Yours very truly,
