Dear Madam,-
It was a great disappointment for me the other day to see that you had left before I had had time to have a little chat with you. I so much appreciated your calling and I would have enjoyed spending a few minutes more in your company. I wish not only to express to you my regrets but also to apologize for having been compelled to answer a very urgent and important call.

Should you have another moment to spare may I ask you to be so kind as to drop in and forget this lack of courtesy on my part.

Pray believe me,
Yours very sincerely,
