The Curator is not yet satisfied with the appliances of the custody of ethnological material while in ^[[#]] the Department of Mammals and Birds, moth proof and air tight cases are used for the storage of specimens, in the Department of Ethnology the most precious objects have to be cared for in open drawers and in spite of the greatest care many specimens become infested and greatly injured. Furthermore, the dirt and exposure change the color and diminish the value of the specimen.

It is proposed by the Curator in the following year to ask the Director of the Museum to render this part of the work of the Department of Ethnology more secure.
