west range for the continent of America and a special exhibit to be made of the Pueblo region in the Northwest Court. This plan has only been partly carried out. ^[[=]]

The study series has only lately been so thoroughly set apart that an object which has been once described and figured will have a separate card attached to it. This is going on as fast as the subject can be studied and ticketed.

The Curator is arranging as fast as possible a card catalogue of the entire exhibit. When this is completed it will show the exact condition of the Ethnological Department which the catalogue does not now show because, during the many years past objects have been exchanged and destroyed without a proper check in the register. This makes it appear, for the time being, that there are more specimens in the collection than are actually to be found there. This will be remedied when the card catalogue is completed.
