8. GIVE THE NAMES OF ANY PERSONS WHO HAVE PROSECUTED INVESTIGATIONS IN YOUR DEPARTMENT DURING THE YEAR, AND STATE THE SPECIAL AIM OF THEIR STUDIES. 

During the past year Mr. J. D. McGuire continued his studies in the art of stone-working especially the use of the drill. The result of this investigation will appear in the Report of 1894. 

Mr. Stewart Culin has studied, with great care, all the games in the Museum[[mark to insert space]]in order to compare them with the series in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Mc.Cormick, of this city, has studied the objects connected with medicine of the American Indians.

Dr. Boas prosecuted a very extended study on the Indians of the North-west Coast spending a great deal of time in arranging and labelling specimens for which we have little or no information.
