13. (1) GIVE THE NUMBER OF SPECIMENS RECEIVED DURING THE YEAR, AND ALSO, SEPARATELY, THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SPECIMENS IN THE COLLECTION, AFTER MAKING ALLOWANCE FOR DEDUCTIONS THROUGH WASTE MATERIAL, EXCHANGES AND OTHER DISTRIBUTIONS.
(2) GIVE THE NUMBER OF THE LAST ENTRIES IN YOUR CATALOGUE ON JUNE 30, 1895, AND JUNE 30, 1896.

The Curator is unable at present to answer a part of this inquiry because a great many hundreds of specimens are distributed among the sections of Arts and Industries, but he is now engaged in making a census of the material under his charge and by the end of the present fiscal year will be able to state definitely the exact number of specimens in his care.
